ST. MICHAEL - An Albertville teenager has died in a single vehicle crash. The Wright County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened just before 1:30 p.m. on Friday on Garrison Avenue Northeast near County Road 34 near St. Michael.

Deputies found the car in a corn field near a power pole that had been sheared off at the bottom.

The driver 16-year-old Leah Demessie of Albertville and the front seat passenger 15-year-old Olivia Wageman of Rogers were still in the vehicle. A passenger in the back seat 16-year-old Nicole Serpa of Rogers was outside the vehicle.

Demessie was air lifted to North Memorial Hospital where she later died.

Wageman and Serpa are in stable condition at North Memorial.
