Albany Teen Driver Says He Fell Asleep Before Hitting Power Pole

AVON TOWNSHIP - A 17-year-old boy from Albany struck an electric power pole with his car this (Tuesday) morning.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Department says the incident happened at about 5:15 a.m. on County Road 54 by the Upper Spunk Public Landing in Avon Township.

The driver says he fell asleep and struck the pole.  He declined treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
