A Memorial Service will be held at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Brooklyn Center, MN, on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 11 AM for Alan G. Hartley who passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving wife and family. A visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.

Alan was born to Clifford and Virginia (Sahli) in Winsted, MN, in 1951. Alan graduated from DeLaSalle High School and received additional education/training at Hennepin Tech. Alan married Barbara Hough on November 27, 1982, and made their home in Brooklyn Park for most of their life. Alan worked as a boiler operator and chief engineer for 40 years.

Alan enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle, hunting, fishing, spending time with and teasing his grandchildren, and being a jokester.

Alan is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters BobbieJo (Brian) Vroom of Zimmerman and Christin Smith of Cambridge; son Matthew Hartley of White Bear Lake; mother Virginia Hartley; brother, Bruce (Kathy) Hartley of Shakopee; sister, Dawn (Jay) Swanson of Plymouth; grandchildren Stephanie (Coty) Kreel, Mason Smith, McKennzie Burks, and Levi Burks; great-grandchildren Brooklyn Kreel, Carmen Kreel, Harmony Kreel, and Briella Kreel.

Alan was preceded in death by his father Clifford and brother C. Kenneth Hartley.
