ST. CLOUD- The Upper Midwest Regional Fruit and Vegetable Growers Conference occupied the Rivers Edge Convention Center that last few days.

The Conference is an educational highlight of the year for vendors and attendees alike. Sylvia Green, of Hsu Growing Supply, gave some insight into why the even is so important.

"We love coming to these trade shows, and not that its just a trade show, but its an environment for people to get together and learn and understand whats going on in the industry. There is so many new farmers that we talk to that are starting to get bigger and better". Said Green.

Green is also part of the growing agritourism scene in the area. Agritourism is mostly known for wineries or orchards, but Green is going in a different direction.

"Its the first of its kind, its the International Ginseng Festival.'there is going to be Ginseng everything, from candy to beer to wine. Its going to be a great you dont want to miss."

A few of the other highlights from the conference were education on berry production, vine crops, cole crops, and tree fruits. The event wrapped up Friday afternoon.
