After Years Without, Sauk Rapids-Rice Hires Curriculum Director [AUDIO]

SAUK RAPIDS -- The search for a new curriculum director for the Sauk Rapids-Rice school district has ended.

The school board has hired Jenny Bushman as the new Director of Teaching and Learning.

Sauk Rapids-Rice superintendent Dan Bittman says because of recent budget changes they were able to bring back the position after having to cut it years ago.

About 60 candidates applied for the position.

Bittman says it was her past experience with this position that led them to the hire.

Bushman is the current curriculum director at Winona Area Public Schools.

Bittman says her commitment to academics and doing what's right for kids will help them reach a higher standard of academic achievement.

Bushman will officially start on July 1st.
