Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Aegidia A. “Kitty” Theisen, 92, of St. Joseph will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph. Kitty passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, August 18, 2014 at home. Reverend Eberhard Schefers will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday and after 9:00 a.m. on Friday at the Daniel Funeral Home in St. Joseph. The St. Joseph Senior Citizens will pray the rosary at 4:30 p.m. and parish prayers will be at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.

Kitty was born on November 10, 1921 in Richmond, Minnesota to the late Henry H. and Gertrude (Braegelmann) Schlangen. She married Walter W. Theisen on May 19, 1947 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Richmond. In addition to raising four children, she helped Wally on the farm. In later years, Kitty was employed at Service Master and the College of St. Benedict. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Parish, the St. Joseph Senior Citizens, Catholic United Financial and the Catholic Order of Foresters.

Kitty treasured time spent with her family. She enjoyed quilting, canning, gardening, sewing, baking, dancing and playing cards. She will be remembered for her hard work ethics and honesty.

Kitty is survived by her children, Arlene Theisen of Waite Park, Carol Wurzburger of Sauk Rapids, Michael E. Theisen (Janie) of St. Joseph, LuAnn Klein (Alan) of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren, Becky Faber (Joe), Joe Theisen (Robin D.), Bill Theisen and Jill Martins (Tom), Dan Klein (Brenda), Brian and Kevin Klein; and great grandchildren, Abigail “Abby”, Hannah, Austin, Daisy and John Klein.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter in 2005; son-in-law, Allen Wurzburger in 2013; brothers, Erwin, Edmund, Alphonse, Norbert and Clem Schlangen; and sister, Alvina Schneider.

Memorials are preferred.

Kitty’s family would like to thank the St. Cloud Hospital Hospice for their professional and compassionate care.
