MELROSE - Absentee balloting begins tomorrow (Friday) for the special election for the District 5 Stearns County Commissioners seat.

With the district primarily in the western part of the county, the city of Melrose has been added as an absentee ballot location.  For voters of this special election only, ballots for all precincts voting will be available at the City Clerk's Office in Melrose, as well as at the Auditor-Treasurer's office in the County Administration Building in St. Cloud.

The last day to vote by absentee ballot is November 18th.

The primary election is November 19th.

Five candidates have filed for the seat, the top two vote-getters will advance to the general election on January 28th.
