UNDATED -- More people will be traveling this holiday season than last year.

AAA estimates that more than 92-million Americans will travel 50 miles or more which is an increase of about 3%. Triple-A Minnesota/Iowa spokeswoman Gail Weinholzer says it's a turnaround from the last few years when fewer people traveled because of the recession.

AAA says most of those holiday travelers will go by car.  9-10 people, or about 85.7-million, will travel by road.

However, the number of air travelers is up by nearly 3%.

The average travel distance and median spending are also up.
