Sauk Rapids Man Taken To Hospital After Being Hit By Train

SAUK RAPIDS -- A Sauk Rapids man was taken to the hospital on Wednesday night after being hit by a train.

The accident happened at about 7:00 p.m. at 1945 North Benton Drive.

Sauk Rapids police say 55-year-old Kevin Olson of St. Cloud followed another man walking across the tracks once the crossing arms had come down.

The man was then hit by a Sante Fe Burlington Northern Freight Train that was going about 57 mph.

Olson was taken to the St. Cloud Hospital for serious injuries. As of Thursday morning, he's listed as being in fair condition.
