KIMBALL -- It was a successful weekend at the Millner Heritage Vineyard and Winery in Kimball as they hosted their annual Rockin' Stompin' Grape Stomp event.

The two-day event featured wine, food, live music, vendors and a grape stomp competition with free bottles of wine as prizes.

"It's the big party of the year," says Jon Millner, who manages the vineyard and judges the grape stomp competition. "I think sometimes people get this notion that [wine] is kind of a 'snob's product', but that's not the environment out here."

Millner's father, Don, opened the vineyard and winery in 2009 and has hosted the grape stomp weekend every year since 2010.

"The turnout's been excellent," Don Millner says. "Any time you have people coming through -- that's really what the winery is about."

"[If we were] just making wine and just growing grapes, it'd be a pretty dead environment -- if you can't laugh and have fun and learn something at the same time, you might as well just stay home."
