ST. CLOUD - It doesn't matter if you're into sci-fi, video games, comic books or fantasy there is a place for everyone at LionCon.

LionCon, which is run by LionHeart Games in Waite Park, is in its second year. The convention has become a place for people in Central Minnesota to live out their passions with other like-minded people.

Nicole Brune is a world renowned pin-up and fantasy artist and the featured guest at LionCon. Brune says she loves coming to the conventions to see people live out their passions.

"The thing about [Comic book Conventions] is people get to be themselves...show their heart, show their mind, show what they are thinking and show what they love and be excited about it. They get to be them."

Brune, who has been featured on Married to Rock on E! and G4TV, found her passion for art at a young age when she drew a character from a video game classic, The Legend of Zelda.

Her passion has continued into her adult years and she has passed that passion onto her daughter who is an emerging artist herself. At six years old, Brune's daughter Rose has already sold hundreds of dollars worth of art at conventions around the country.

The elder Brune says she choose illustration because it allowed to her to tell an entire story in a single image.

"Wow, that is an amazing concept, telling a story with one image and capturing the moment."

While meeting talented artists like Brune are a highlight of the convention, there are also a lot of great local ties as well.

"There are a lot of tables set up for people to be their passionate selves with gaming, there are a lot of different vendors selling all their arts and crafts."

Other events at LionCon include gaming tournaments, a ship simulator, cosplay contest and many more.

LionCon started Saturday and runs through Sunday at 4:00 p.m.
