A 7-Year-Old Playing with A Lighter Starts Bedroom on Fire
AVON - A child playing with a lighter started a mobile home fire last (Thursday) night. The Stearns County Sheriff's Office says the call came in at about 10:30 p.m. in the Evergreen Mobile Home Park in Avon Township.
Fire crews treated two adults for smoke inhalation. The fire was contained to one bedroom, which was extinguished by the homeowner prior to the fire department arriving. A seven-year-old was playing with a lighter near a bunk bed. The home sustained smoke, fire and water damage. None of the people in the house were taken to the hospital.
The adult victims have been identified as 40-year-old Bertam Bowen of Avon, and 34-year-old Latasha Frazee of Avon.
