SAUK CENTRE, Minn. -- Two Minnesota men have died in two separate ultralight plane crashes.

In Sauk Centre Township on Monday, 70-year-old Richard Eidem (EE'-dem) of Osakis (oh-SAY'-kis) died when his ultralight single-seat propeller aircraft crashed on Lynx National Golf Course.

Stearns County Sheriff's officials say the crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. Witnesses say the aircraft was flying low as it neared the golf course.

Less than a half hour earlier, another man died when his ultralight plane crashed into a field near Pequot (PEE'-kwaht) Lakes.

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office says 55-year-old Daniel Steven Chisholm, of Ideal Township, was dead at the scene.

The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
