Virginia utility damaged in fire

VIRGINIA -- A fire at the Virginia Public Utilities building has caused $150,000 in damages.
The fire broke out Saturday morning in the rubber membrane on the roof of the utility's wood-boiler building.
A spokesman for the utility says a crew was putting a temporary patch on the roof and full production was expected to start again Sunday.
Fire Chief Darrel Knapper says the cause of the blaze was insufficient clearance between roofing material and superheated steam pipes.
