Flooding closes roads, bridges in Minnesota
by The Associated Press

ST. PAUL -- Spring flooding is making it hard to get around parts of Minnesota, with various roads and bridges all over the state closed by rising water.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reports Friday that the US Highway 10 bridge over the Mississippi River in Little Falls is closed in both directions.

MnDOT spokesman Kevin Gutknecht (GOOT'-nehkt) says an ice jam got lodged under the bridge and water undermined the bridge approaches and the nearby roadway. The bridge may stay closed through the flood season.

Other major roads closed by flooding include Highway 169 between Mankato and LeSueur, US 14 near Florence and US Highway 75 near Kent.
