After fouling ball off foot, Derek Jeter sits out

MINNEAPOLIS -- Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter sat out the series finale against the Minnesota Twins after fouling a ball off the inside of his left foot the previous night.
Jeter remained in Tuesday night's game for three more at-bats after he was struck, and got a hit each time. He had X-rays, which were negative, but manager Joe Girardi decided Jeter was too sore to play yesterday.
Girardi says Jeter should be back on the field -- following a scheduled day off for the team -- for tomorrow night's game against Kansas City.
