Evans enjoying first full camp with Vikings

MANKATO -- The Minnesota Vikings finish training camp today, and defensive tackle Fred Evans is actually enjoying being in camp.
While most veterans loathe the two-a-days under the hot August sun, Evans is trying to set a foundation he wasn't able to set last year.
Evans came to the Vikings late in training camp last August and played in only one preseason game. He was suspended the first two games of the regular season because of conduct violations while he was with the Dolphins and spent the rest of the season playing catchup.
Now Evans says getting a whole training camp under his belt has made him more comfortable going into this season. He is competing with four other players for the third tackle spot behind Pro Bowlers Kevin and Pat Williams.
