Telfair signs with Wolves, stabilizes PG situation
by The Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- Sebastian Telfair has signed his new contract with the Minnesota Timberwolves. It's a two-year deal, and Telfair has the option to take a third year.
Telfair started slowly after arriving last summer in the Kevin Garnett trade, but coach Randy Wittman grew fond of him as he developed into a steady point guard -- until a sprained ankle kept him out for the last 21 games of the season. Telfair averaged 9.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 5.9 assists and finished 10th in the NBA in assist-to-turnover ratio.
This will be his fifth year in the NBA. Telfair says he believes he grew a lot last season in his knowledge of the game.
