Thunder coach Magee steps down

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Amos Magee is stepping down as coach of the Minnesota Thunder soccer club.
The Thunder (4-8-5) have not won a game in two months and are in last place in the USL First Division.
Team president Manny Lagos says he met with Magee on Monday and ``we both decided that a change in leadership might help rejuvenate this group of players.''
Assistant coach Donny Gramenz will serve as interim coach while the team conducts a search for a permanent successor.
Magee played 13 seasons with the Thunder and is the franchise's career scoring leader. He took over for beloved head coach Buzz Lagos in 2006, but the Thunder missed the playoffs in both of his full seasons as coach.
Magee has been offered a management role with the club.
