Bird, Cash, tough defense lead Storm past Lynx
by The Associated Press
MINNEAPOLIS -- A couple of poor shooting days from their two biggest stars doomed the Minnesota Lynx.
Seimone Augustus missed 13 of her 16 shots and Candace Wiggens went 3-for-11 in Minnesota's 76-to-73 loss to the Seattle Storm today.
Augustus finished with 10 points and Wiggins had 14. They were pestered and harrassed by Seattle's tough defense for most of the game.
Sue Bird led the Storm with 22 points and Swin Cash had 17 points and 11 rebounds.
Seattle played its third game without All-Star center Lauren Jackson, who has joined the Australian national team to prepare for the Beijing Olympics.
