WJON Sports

The Twins lost 12-4 at Yankee Stadium against the Bronx Bombers Monday night in the first game of their 3-game series.  Nick Blackburn had his shortest outing of the season allowing 7 hits and 6 runs in 1 2/3 innings to take the loss and drop to 7-6.  Only 3 of the runs allowed by Blackburn were earned because of an Alexi Casilla error in the 2nd inning.  Casilla led the Twins at the plate going 3-5 with a run scored and 2 RBIs and Denard Span added 3 hits and a run scored.  The Twins fall to 55-44 but remain 1/2 game back of the White Sox for first place in the American League Central.  The Twins play the Yankees in New York again tonight at 6:05, pregame on WJON at 5:35.  Righthander Kevin Slowey (6-6) gets the start on the mound for the Twins and righthander Darrell Rasner (5-7) toes the rubber for the Yankees.
