Rangers activate Padilla, send Duran to Triple-A
by The Associated Press

MINNEAPOLIS -- The Texas Rangers have activated Vicente Padilla off the disabled list to start

against the Twins today.

The Rangers also optioned infielder German Duran to Triple-A Oklahoma.

Padilla is 10-5 with a 4.70 ERA. He had been on the 15-day DL with a stiff neck.

Duran was hitting .225 with three home runs in 102 at-bats with the Rangers this season.

The rookie was called up from the minors on April 17. He was sent back down May 29 and was

called up again 10 days later.

Rangers manager Ron Washington says the last time Duran was sent down he came back a lot

better. He says the next time Duran is called up, he thinks it'll be for good.
