WAITE PARK -- A local organization that helps adults with disabilities has received $50,000 in grants.

The "Independence Center" in Waite Park was given a $30,000 grant from the Otto Bremer Foundation, and a $20,000 grant from the CentraCare Health Foundation.

They'll use the money to make upgrades to their facility, including: creating quiet areas and installing specialized lifting equipment in their bathrooms.

The Independence Center has been providing day training to adults with developmental disabilities since 1976.
