Osakis man killed in plane crash

SAUK CENTRE -- The Stearns County Sheriff's Department is investigating a fatal plane crash near Sauk Centre. 

The single seat ultra-light plane crashed just after 8:00 last (Monday) night at the Lynx National Golf Course. 

The 70-year-old pilot is listed as being from Osakis. 

He died at the scene. His name has not been released. 

No other people were injured. 

Witnesses reported seeing the aircraft flying low as it neared the golf course. 

It had taken off from the Sauk Centre Airport. 

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
