Gas prices soar as Minnesotans head to the lake, Mom's house
by Tim Lyon, WJON.com

ST. CLOUD -- Minnesotans hitting the road for fishing or visiting mom are being greeted with a sobering sign of the times: $3.67 gas.

What's more, it begs the question:  "When will we see $4.00 gas?"

Convenience stores along Highway 10 in St. Cloud posted the latest record high amount of $3.67 this morning, a 13-or-so-cent hike from prices at those stations just yesterday.

That $3.67 is high, but it is for the highly-traveled Highway 10 corridor on one of the busiest driving days of the year in the Gopher state.

Posted prices are lower at stations off the Highway.

And if you really need to rationalize it, $3.67 is still a penny lower than the national average.

At least, for now.

UPDATE:  Gas stations off the highway are also matching the $3.67 prices as of noon.
