Minnesota bill honoring Korean War vets on its way to Pawlenty
by Jim Maurice, WJON.com

UNDATED -- Minnesota is on the verge of honoring Korean War veterans every July.

The Senate has voted unanimously to establish "Korean War Armistice Day" on July 27th. The House approved the legislation on Monday.

State Representative Dan Severson of Sauk Rapids authored the bill in the House. He says he got the idea after the state passed a similar bill honoring Vietnam vets earlier this session.

The bill is now heading to Governor Pawlenty's desk. If he signs it, the proposal would recognize the 1953 armistice agreement that ended the war between North and South Korea.
