Update:  1-in-10 brides to get their gowns from closed Cold Spring bridal shop
by Jim Maurice and Tim Lyon, WJON.com

COLD SPRING -- Relief for some -- but not all -- brides stiffed by a Cold Spring bridal shop.

Cold Spring Police Chief Phil Jones has been fielding hundreds of phone calls after "Lori's Bridal and Formal Wear" closed.  A note on the door said it was because of the economy.

Now Police Chief Jones says 37 dresses have been recovered from the store.  He says the owners of those dresses will be contacted, and they'll get their gowns this Saturday morning at city hall.

Jones says only one out of 10 brides that have contacted him will end-up getting their dresses.  He says the rest will have to play it out in bankruptcy court.

WJON.com has not been successful in contacting owner Lori Parsons.

But WCCO-TV in Minneapolis aired a story Tuesday night, talking with Parsons on the telephone.

According to their report, Parsons told the TV station she's going through a bitter divorce, her home is now in foreclosure and she can't refinance her business loan.  Parsons says a lawyer told her to lock-up her business.

WCCO-TV says Parsons thinks those who don't get their dresses back might be able to get their money back from their credit card companies.
