Freedom Fest organizers pick new location

ST. CLOUD -- Because of the Highway 23 detour, this year's Fourth of July Freedom Fest events in St. Cloud need to be moved.

Event organizer Tom Richardson says Freedom Fest can't be held on Veterans Bridge this year.   He says it's not finalized until they talk with the neighbors, but they plan to move the event to 5th Avenue North along the Cathedral High School practice football field.

Wilson Park and Hester Park will still have children's activities, beer gardens and food vendors.

Richardson says the fireworks display will be the largest pyrotechnic display in central Minnesota.
