Boy shot in accidental shooting
by Lee Voss, WJON.com

ELROSA -- A 14-year-old boy from Western Stearns County had to be taken to the hospital for treatment after a gun accident Sunday.

It happened on his parent's land Sunday in Lake George Township near Elrosa.

Stearns County authorities say the teen was part a group of boys who were taking target practice at aluminum cans when a 13-year-old boy fired a 22-caliber rifle. The bullet ricocheted off an A-T-V rack and struck the victim in the upper arm.

He was treated and released from a Sauk Centre hospital.

It's the second accidental shooting involving teens in Stearns County in 2008. A previous accident near St. Stephen left 19-year-old Cody Waytashek of Royalton dead when a friend pointed the gun at him and pulled the trigger.
