This morning, I flip on the TV & there is my OTTER fish house – up in Ontario, with a couple of guys catching splake. And lake trout. And northern. LOTS of fish.

Then there were the commercials for crappie catchin’ lures -- lures for bagging buckets of sunfish and limits of perch. Those poor fish really don’t stand a chance, do they?

Last year was my first real season on the ice. I went from a super secret location to my first Mille Lacs Lake jumbo perch and walleye to fishing Lake of the Woods in a blinding blizzard and catching my first eelpout (along with a 24" walleye) to my first near ice-out experience near Emily, where the crappies literally fought for my lure, and I managed to hook a 10" sunfish. I’ve even got the picture to prove it!

Three out of four times, I caught fish.

Looking back. all four times, I really had no idea what I was doing. I listened to my friends, and what my gut was telling me to do. So simple – so basic – And yet so rewarding.

This year, I am fortunate enough to have an OTTER fish house.

CLICK HERE for the conversation I had with Karl Keene from OTTER Outdoors, and hear why an OTTER fish house is the obvious choice!

I’ve talked with more people lately that have said, "YES! I’M READY!" for the ice fishing season to get here.

I’m ready, too.

Wanna take me to school?

The ice is calling...
