ST. CLOUD - Quilts that look like granite? Local quilters put their skills to the test for a new exhibit here in St. Cloud.

The new quilt exhibit is called "Granite City Rocks" and is on display now at Stearns History Museum. It showcases the talents of the St. Cloud Heritage Quilters.

The 24 by 24 inch quilts were created by the members as part of a recent group challenge. Each participant randomly chose one of two fabrics that resemble granite quarried from the St. Cloud area: Cold Spring Black and Cold Spring Charcoal Black.

The exhibit is on display now through September 30th.

Admission to the Stearns History Museum is $7 for adults and $3 for kids. Museum members are free.

The St. Cloud Heritage Quilters donate quilts to various charities, including: the Quilts of Valor Foundation, Coborn Cancer Center, Catholic Charities, and Anna Marie's Alliance.
