ELK RIVER - An Elk River company is expanding, and adding jobs. The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development says Sportech Incorporated is planning a $6.5 million expansion, which will add 105,000 square feet to its production facility.

They will also add 43 new jobs over the next three years, with an average wage of nearly $16 an hour.

The company makes windshields, body panels and screen print parts for motorcycles, snowmobiles, all-terrain vehicles, and other recreation and utility vehicles.

DEED has approved Sportech for a $175,000 grant from the Job Creation Fund.

Sportech began back in 1994 as a home-based family business that sold snowmobile accessories.
