COTTAGE GROCE, Minn. (AP) - A Minnesota man and his wife are hoping to celebrate his 90th birthday with a vacation to Canada. But, Ray and Sandy Morgan, of Cottage Grove, have run into a roadblock.

They'll need proof of U.S. citizenship in order to cross the border. And that's a bit of a problem for Ray. He was born at home in Iowa. There's no birth certificate and no proof he's a U.S. citizen.

Ray says he never needed one. After all, he served his country in the Navy and he worked for the federal government for 30 years. The Morgans made a breakthrough Monday when they learned Ray's old church in Sioux City, Iowa, still has his baptismal certificate from 1926.

The couple is hoping a passport worker will give Ray a break.
