EDINA, Minn. (AP) - Eight Chicago-area men accused of lifting $20,000 in merchandise from a Louis Vuitton store in Minnesota are now charged following an interstate chase.

The eight are all charged in Hennepin County with felony theft. In addition, one man who did not run into the store is charged with fleeing a police officer.

Police were called to an upscale shopping center in Edina about 10 a.m. Wednesday. Reports say the suspects took designer handbags. A former security guard who saw the men jump in a van and leave called police.

The Minnesota State Patrol following the van by air while police gave chase on the ground.

Police say the suspects, ranging in age from 21 to 39, tossed the merchandise from the van during the chase. They were eventually arrested.
