ST. CLOUD - Seven St. Cloud businesses have been fined for failing an alcohol compliance check. The police department conducted the checks in June at licensed on-sale and off-sale establishments.

The businesses that sold to someone under the age of 21 are: Knotty Pine Liquors, Old Chicago, The Pickled Loon, Pizza Hut, Star of India, SuperAmerica and The White Horse.

All seven businesses agreed to pay a $750 fine. It is the first violation within two years for all seven businesses.

During Monday night's city council meeting councilwoman Carol Lewis encouraged the businesses to do a better job training their employees, to get the violations down to zero in the city.

City staff say the seven violations are higher than what they've been in the past few years, but not highest the city has ever seen.
