SLEEPY EYE (AP) - A large hog producer based in southern Minnesota says it has suspended seven employees at its hog farming facilities after an animal welfare group made claims of abuse.

Christensen Farms, of Sleepy Eye, says it's conducting an internal investigation into the claims of "possible improper animal care."

The Los Angeles-based Last Chance for Animals plans to release a video Tuesday that it says shows violations of Minnesota's animal cruelty law.  The video has been turned over to local law enforcement.

Christensen Farms operates more than 50 sow farms across the Midwest. It says all employees are required to sign a document which details the company's animal welfare policies.
