EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) - A Twin Cities high school had to scramble to find replacements after a carload of teachers was involved in a serious accident on the way to a conference in Duluth last week.

Six teachers from Eden Prairie were riding in a Ford Expedition when one of the tires unexpectedly came off. Five were hurt.

A district spokeswoman told reporters on Tuesday that one of the teachers has returned to work and that another is expected back later this week.

But two of the teachers are not expected to return to work this school year.

All of the teachers work in the math department.

Principal Conn McCartan says Edina High School offered to help find substitute teachers while some recently retired Eden Prairie teachers also volunteered to help.
