KANDIYOHI COUNTY -- Five people were hurt in a two car crash earlier this (Saturday) afternoon in Kandiyohi County.

The state patrol says the incident happened shortly before 2:30 p.m. Twenty-six-year-old Justin Trotter of Franklin was driving southbound on Highway 71, he slowed down to avoid a pheasant and was rear ended by 77-year-old Melvin Fiechtner of Lehr.

Trotter and his passengers 7-year-old Aaron Trotter 25-year-old Courtney Bendinello of Olivia were hurt in the crash.

Fiechtner and his passenger 76-year-old Arbadella Fiechtner of Lehr were also hurt in the crash. Fiechtner had to other passengers in his car who were not injured, 76-year-old Larry George and 74-year-old Janet George both of Springfield.

All who were hurt in the crash suffered from non-life threatening injuries.
