WILLMAR -- Five people are hurt after a three vehicle crash in Kandiyohi County this (Monday) morning.

The incident happened just after 8:00 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 71 and 37th Avenue Northeast near Willmar.

The state patrol says 91-year-old Harold Freetly, of Kerkhoven, was heading west on 37th Avenue Northeast, when he failed to yield to traffic and hit the front of a Ford Escape driven by 25-year-old Sophia Simon of Spicer.

A third vehicle, driven by 46-year-old Dean Dickinson of Fargo, also hit the Escape after trying to swerve to avoid the collision.

Simon and her passenger, 4-year-old Alice Strom, and Dickinson suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash.

Freetly and his passenger, 88-year-old Arlene Freetly, were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
