WATKINS (AP) - A 4-year-old central Minnesota girl has died after authorities say she became wedged between her bed and her bedroom wall.

The Meeker County Sheriff's Office calls the death an accident.

Anca Altenburg of Watkins told officials that her daughter, Brianna, had gone upstairs Wednesday evening to play in her room. When the mother went to check on her daughter 20 minutes later, the girl was unresponsive.

Emergency crews brought Brianna to Meeker Memorial Hospital, but she could not be revived.

An autopsy is being performed, and the sheriff's office is still investigating.

Officials say the girl had a loft-style bed raised almost four feet off the ground, and there were cubicles and drawers underneath the mattress.
