ROCHESTER (AP) - Four hotels near the Mayo Clinic have begun offering in-room care services, making it almost as simple to get as ordering room service.

The hotels say the care fulfills a need for patients who've been discharged from the clinic.

Patients staying at the Kahler Grand Hotel, Kahler Inn and Suites, Rochester Mariott and Rochester Residence Inn can now order from an a-la-carte menu of services from a registered nurse or physical therapist on staff.

Sara Romeo is the first RN hired by the Kahler Grand Hotel for these services. She says Mayo turns away an average of 70 patients per month because they don't have anyone to care for them after their procedures. Romeo says she'll and other nurses will step in to fill that role.
