ST. JOSEPH -- A state-of-the-art facility is the result of a three-year $4.8 million dollar project to build St. Joseph a new Government Center.

The facility, which opened Monday night was built to help the small town grow and govern in the 21st Century. Mayor Rick Schultz says he is pleased with the end result.

"This building sets the stage for the future of St. Joe's, from a facilities and services perspective."

The opening featured:

  • Flag raising by the St. Joseph American Legion
  • An Invocation from area pastors
  • A special welcome by Mayor Schultz
  • A ribbon cutting by Mayor Schultz and a local Boy Scout troop

The facility took just over 10 months to build, and was completed late last week as the city moved it's systems and phones into the new building.

The city has yet to find a buyer for its old City Hall, a former bank. The new facility is adjacent to Colts Academy and the Community Center, on College Avenue.
