Parents Weekend at University of Minnesota

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) - It's parents weekend at the University of Minnesota and more than 1,400 family members from around the state are expected on the Twin Cities campus.

The university bills the event as a chance for parents to reconnect with their children, learn more about the university's program and see the university through the eyes of their son or daughter.

The families will meet with university President Eric Kaler and other school leaders for lunch on Saturday, followed by a sort of physics circus put on by a group of physics and astronomy faculty.

After that, teams of parents and students will roam the campus following clues, overcoming challenges and finding treasures as part of the Great Campus Quest. Prizes will be awarded for the top finishers.
