3-Year-Old Girl Found Dead in Brooklyn Park Apartment Pool

BROOKLYN PARK (AP) — Authorities have recovered the body of a missing 3-year-old girl who apparently drowned in an apartment pool in Brooklyn Park.

Police say the girl's body was discovered after authorities went back to the outdoor pool at Windsor Gate Apartments.

Deputy Brooklyn Park Police Chief Mark Bruley says the girl had been with other children at the pool Sunday evening. When the children returned to a nearby town house without the 3-year-old, the girl's mother and others started searching.

Police were called after a couple of hours. Around 1 a.m. Monday, a member of the Fire Department went back to the pool and saw a shadow in the deep end that turned out to be the girl's body.

Authorities say cloudy pool water complicated the search.
