KINGSTON -- Five people were hurt in a serious crash on Highway 15 south of Kingston Friday.

The Minnesota State Patrol says the incident happened just after 6:00 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Highway 15 and County Road 21.

A car driven by 17-year-old Andrew Sarkinen of Roseville was traveling westbound on County Road 21 approaching the intersection. A second vehicle driven by 43-year-old Dale Fredrickson of Sartell hit Sarkinen broadside, causing him to go into the ditch.

Fredrickson then hit a third vehicle driven by 56-year-old Kathryn Trimbo of Hutchinson.

One passenger in Sarkinen's vehicle was ejected during the crash. The State Patrol says 14-year-old Sael Thao of Waverly has serious injuries. Another passenger in the vehicle, 15-year-old Dannon Thao of Wavery has non-life threatening injuries. Sarkinen has non-life threatening injuries from the crash.

Fredrickson and Trimbo also received non life threatening injuries from the crash.
