LA CRESCENT, Minn. (AP) - Police in southeastern Minnesota are investigating a stabbing at an intersection in a small Mississippi River community that left two adults and a young child with injuries.

Investigators say the three got out of a car with Wisconsin license plates at an intersection in La Crescent about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. Witness Charles Rislow says a bleeding woman was cradling a small child and screaming. Rislow says a man got out of the car covered in blood, staggered and collapsed.

Police Chief Doug Stavenau says it appears the stabbings were the result of a domestic incident that began in the car and spilled into the street. All three were taken to the hospital where the man and toddler underwent surgery. Stavenau says the man is a suspect in the stabbings and is under police guard.
