COLD SPRING - Three people were hurt in a three vehicle chain reaction crash. The Minnesota State Patrol says it happened just before 8:00 a.m. this (Wednesday) morning on Highway 23, at County Road 158, west of Cold Spring.

Forty-two-year-old Nancy Schlangen of Paynesville was in the median, waiting to turn from eastbound Highway 23 onto northbound County Road 158. Schlangen pulled out in front of a car driven by 50-year-old Nicholas Newton of Somerset, Wisconsin. Both vehicles went across the road and struck a semi driven by 45-year-old Glen Schuller of St. Joseph.

Schlangen and Newton were both taken to St. Cloud Hospital with non life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Newton's vehicle, 31-year-old Dustin Cooper, was also taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Schuller was not hurt.
