3 Members of a Mississippi Family Killed in Northern Minnesota Crash
CASS LAKE (AP) — Three members of a Mississippi family have died and one was critically injured on an icy highway in northern Minnesota.
The State Patrol says the one-vehicle rollover happed about 5:40 p.m. Saturday on U.S. Highway 2, about nine miles east of Cass Lake. The Patrol says a pickup driven by 28-year-old Jeremiah Statham of Foxworth, Miss., was eastbound when it lost control on the icy highway, left the road, hit some trees and a stump and rolled. The truck came to rest on its roof.
Statham's wife, 27-year-old Catherine Statham; 3-year-old son, Jeremiah; and 1-year-old daughter Emma, died from their injuries. The father was taken to a Duluth hospital in critical condition.
The Patrol says all wore seat belts or other restraints, and no alcohol was detected in the driver.
