3 Killed, 1 Critically Injured in Shooting in St. Paul

ST. PAUL (AP) - Three people were fatally shot and a fourth person was critically injured in an early morning shooting at an apartment building in St. Paul.

Police using dogs found a 1 1/2-year-old girl and a suspect hiding in a nearby shed about 2 hours later, just as authorities were about to issue an Amber Alert. She was taken to a hospital for evaluation but was expected to be OK.

The suspect was taken in for questioning.

Officers were called to the apartment building about 1 a.m. Friday. Police spokesman Steve Linders says the investigation is ongoing but it appears those involved in the incident knew one another and there is no risk to the public. He says police are investigating three crime scenes spread over a large area.
