ST. PAUL (AP) - Minnesota health officials say the number of children dying from flu-related complications is rising.

Three young patients have died after contracting the flu this season.

Minnesota Department of Health says fewer people have gotten sick with the flu compared to the past few years. But, those who have gotten sick can experience severe complications, especially children.

Health officials say there have been 843 flu hospitalizations so far this season compared to more than 4,100 for all of last season.
